We designed MoonBikes to not only be easy to ride but also easy to transport, park, and store. A MoonBike is only 88 inches (225 cm) long including the skis and less than 30 inches (70 cm) wide including the handlebars. Its maximum height is 40 inches (1 m). Given its compact size, a MoonBike can easily fit through a standard 35 inch (90 cm) door.
A MoonBike is easy to handle since it only weighs 182 lbs (82 kg). The battery can also be removed to make handling the bike even easier. Without its battery, a MoonBike weighs only 155 lbs (70 kg).
A MoonBike can go up to 26 mph (42 km/h).
The battery life on a MoonBike depends on several variables, such as the terrain and conditions during your ride. Typically, you can ride your MoonBike up to 22 miles (35 km) when in Eco Mode. In Sport Mode, you can ride 12 to 15 miles (20 to 25 km). You can double these distances by adding a second battery.
The maximum power of the motor is 3kW
Be assured, you can use your MoonBike in any type of snow (powder, packed snow, ice). The perfect condition are of course the fresh powder. The steepness of the terrain must be at max 40% and the snow depth 30cm (1ft).
Also, the MoonBike is not designed to go in sand, grass, rocks or water.
Unfortunately, the MoonBike is not designed for two people on it. The MoonBike can handle a load of 120 kg (260lbs).Therefore, it is also possible to tow a sled in addition to the driver.
The charging time for your MoonBike depends on your battery’s capacity and the type of charger you are using. With the standard charger, it takes 2.5 hours to charge a MoonBike battery that has been depleted to 50% of its capacity. You can fully charge a battery that is completely depleted in less than 5.5 hours. With the fast charger, it takes just over an hour to charge a MoonBike battery that has been depleted to 50% of its capacity. For a full charge, it will only take 2.5 hours.
You can connect your battery charger to a 110V or 220V power outlet.
Very low temperatures do not affect a battery’s life as long as a MoonBike is switched on (in the ON position). The battery box is actually heated and provides protection against the cold in temperatures down to -25°C (-13°F).
When you are not using your MoonBike, however, we recommend avoiding exposing its battery to low temperatures. When not in use, a battery should be stored at 20 to 80% of its capacity and recharged at least once every three months.
There are two ways to charge your MoonBike: plug the battery charger cable directly into your MoonBike or remove the battery and charge it separately. To directly charge your MoonBike, simply plug the battery charger’s power cable into the wall socket and then plug the charger into your battery. If you wish to charge your battery separately, it can easily and quickly be removed from its case. This is especially convenient for storing your battery away from low temperatures.
As a MoonBike is an entirely new product, there are no specific laws that regulate its use. Consequently, the laws governing snowmobiles tend to apply to a MoonBike. If you are riding in France, we encourage you to consult the country’s snowmobile regulations (cf. Snowmobile Regulations at the bottom of de page). For all other regions, we recommend you become familiar with the regulations concerning snowmobiles and encourage you to obtain any necessary authorizations.
