What is a MoonBike?
A MoonBike is an electric snowbike that blends the playful feel of a motorcycle with the on-snow capabilities of a snowmobile. It features a ski up front and a track at the rear that propels the snowbike. Thanks to a MoonBike’s high-efficiency propulsion motor, it can be ridden in both fresh snow and on groomed trails. With an innovative design, MoonBikes blur the lines between transportation and recreation to provide a truly unique experience.

There are currently five MoonBike parks in the French Alps where you can book a ride and then test a MoonBike. These parks are based at the following ski resorts: Tignes, Les Saisies, Val d'Isère, Courchevel, and Flaine. Additional parks will be opening for winter 2021-2022. Learn more about our parks on our "Parks" page.
We are also developing partnerships in the United States, Canada, and throughout Scandinavia to allow you to try out a MoonBike as close as possible to your home. We will keep you posted as these new partnerships and testing centers come to life.
What are the dimensions of a MoonBike?
We designed MoonBikes to not only be easy to ride but also easy to transport, park, and store. A MoonBike is only 88 inches (225 cm) long including the skis and less than 30 inches (70 cm) wide including the handlebars. Its maximum height is 40 inches (1 m). Given its compact size, a MoonBike can easily fit through a standard 35 inch (90 cm) door.
What is the weight of a MoonBike?
A MoonBike is easy to handle since it only weighs 182 lbs (82 kg). The battery can also be removed to make handling the bike even easier. Without its battery, a MoonBike weighs only 155 lbs (70 kg).
What is the top speed of a MoonBike?
A MoonBike can go up to 26 mph (42 km/h).
How far can you go before a MoonBike needs to be recharged?
The battery life on a MoonBike depends on several variables, such as the terrain and conditions during your ride. Typically, you can ride your MoonBike up to 22 miles (35 km) when in Eco Mode. In Sport Mode, you can ride 12 to 15 miles (20 to 25 km). You can double these distances by adding a second battery.
What is the power of the engine?
The maximum power of the motor is 3kW.
How long does it take to charge a battery?
The charging time for your MoonBike depends on your battery’s capacity and the type of charger you are using. With the standard charger, it takes 2.5 hours to charge a MoonBike battery that has been depleted to 50% of its capacity. You can fully charge a battery that is completely depleted in less than 5.5 hours. With the fast charger, it takes just over an hour to charge a MoonBike battery that has been depleted to 50% of its capacity. For a full charge, it will only take 2.5 hours.
What type of plug can I use?
You can connect your battery charger to a 110V or 220V power outlet.
Is the battery life affected by the cold?
Very low temperatures do not affect a battery’s life as long as a MoonBike is switched on (in the ON position). The battery box is actually heated and provides protection against the cold in temperatures down to -25°C (-13°F).
When you are not using your MoonBike, however, we recommend avoiding exposing its battery to low temperatures. When not in use, a battery should be stored at 20 to 80% of its capacity and recharged at least once every three months.
How do I charge my MoonBike?
There are two ways to charge your MoonBike: plug the battery charger cable directly into your MoonBike or remove the battery and charge it separately. To directly charge your MoonBike, simply plug the battery charger’s power cable into the wall socket and then plug the charger into your battery. If you wish to charge your battery separately, it can easily and quickly be removed from its case. This is especially convenient for storing your battery away from low temperatures.
Which laws regulate the use of the MoonBike?
As a MoonBike is an entirely new product, there are no specific laws that regulate its use. Consequently, the laws governing snowmobiles tend to apply to a MoonBike. If you are riding in France, we encourage you to consult the country’s snowmobile regulations (cf. Snowmobile Regulations at the bottom of de page). For all other regions, we recommend you become familiar with the regulations concerning snowmobiles and encourage you to obtain any necessary authorizations.
